Spread along the southern part of the eastern lobe of Maui, Kihei is known for its beaches and affordable accommodation - both hotels and condominiums. New shopping areas have been recently built, affording the visitor all the conveniences of home while vacationing. Kihei receives less rain than other parts of the island and isn't as lush as West Maui, but has better beaches.
